COVID-19 -Aeromedical Transport

We understand the challenges hospitals are facing due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic. Skyline Aviation and New Zealand Air Ambulance Services have activated our Pandemic response plan which includes increasing capacity to support our National Air Ambulance service.  We have a dedicated intensive care flight team available, along with aircraft, 24/7 to support all District Health Boards, ACC and MOH. Our service has approved infection control procedures to transport suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 patients. Our guidelines have been approved by Dr Sally Roberts –Clinical head of microbiology and clinical advisor for infection prevention and control at Auckland District Health Board.

Our international medivac and commercial medical escort transport service is still operating on a case by case basis. We have an NHCC/MOH approved international protocol to enable our global medical escorts to fly out and return into New Zealand without self-isolation due to robust infection control protocols. We are available with our international jets to retrieve New Zealand patients from Australia and the Pacific Islands or return Australian and Pacific Island nationals to their home.  We can also assist with medical freight if required.

Please call us if you have international patients in your hospitals needing to return home, this will help you free up hospital beds and return patients back to their families during Alert 4 restrictions.
